Re: Introduce yourself girls!
I was like you at first Hannah, very cautious. My instructor kept telling me to speed up on my CBT, but like you said, 20mph felt sooooo fast! Then when I got to start riding on my own I though, blimey a granny would drive a metro faster on these roads than I am going!!! But gradually I gained confidence and got faster bit by bit and now I am happy that I exceed the speed that I do the same roads in my car. I'm still a long way from hanging off my bike and getting my knee down. Perhaps that will come one day but for me its about building confidence at a speed I'm happy with and being safe (as well as having fun).
You don't do things by halves do you Charlie!!!! Glad you're still here to tell the tale!!!i can be a bit of a hot head! my first crash was at 80mph down a single track country lane! think i learnt my lesson to not speed!

I'm hoping for an indian summer and as much nice riding weather as possible before winter sets in. Riding in the sun always puts a smile on my face.

Ah ever the optimist Rhaposdy! Thanks for the welcome Lissee. I too went out on Saturday but could hardly see a bloody thing out my visor and steeming up glasses. Maybe I should have left the L plate on...

Re: Introduce yourself girls!
Thanks for the welcome Benneyboy, but you should not be mean to Dan. Jealousy is a terrible thing
Now I don't want to assume anything but you look like a fella (I know that don't mean much) & you are registered as a male on your profile (you may not be aware of that) but I thought this was in the GIRLS ONLY section so may I ask why you are in here
I had to go though extensive tests to prove my womanhood & post in here so you had better have a good reason for sneaking into this lady house!

Re: Introduce yourself girls!
LOL I did think he had a feminine air about him, why else would he be hanging around in the girlie house. I bet he thought he would get to see loads of man porn in here!
Sorry to read about your accident Hannah (I'm not sure why you are
about being into scooters though?
) I came off a 125 when I was 15. I was a passenger & the silly boy riding it slipped on a wet drain & then proceeded to hold on to the bike as it dragged us along the road with my leg trapped under it. I lost cartlage and had an open hole in my knee for 4 months which had to be cleaned and redressed every day. I was on cruthes for 3 months. It was an awful time but didn't put me off (only being a passanger) and I love riding my scooter now although I am quite cautious hence the reason for buying a 100cc scooter not a 1000cc superbike! I'm sure once my confidence is up I may want something a little bigger but I find I am really enjoying a scooter as I have no gears to think about.
