oil pump .........

Post by Lissee on Mon Oct 26, 2009 12:32 pm

Right gonna cut the oil pump off completely as its not working properly and just pre mix, I take it its not a matter of just emptying the tank as air will get through,

I presume i will have to open up the oil pump and switch something off, Any advise greatly recieved, cheers guys

The air shouldnt do any harm, it goes into your inlet manifold anyway. lol

But you could crimp the rubber pipe if you were worried?

easest way is drain your tank out is to get a empty container and take oil feed line from pump and put into container and then take oil tank filler cap off and this will allow the tank to empty quicker , then remove the tank and jsut unbolt the pump, too be honest though youd be better off getting another pup unless your into pre mix in which case you gotta my vote

personally think that the pre mix option is better no worry of lack of oil and as long as its ratio right should in theory give your top a slighty easier life , jsut rember to blip the throttle when sowing and when in traffic to stop the top end being starved of oil okies !

Lisa, can you not make a bracket up instead of the fairing screwing to the tank. As when you take things off, less weight means more speed Wink

Yeah cause an empty plastic tank is so heavy lol, my TZR is a wee flying machine anyway and i dont need it to go any faster lol,the fastest i have done so far is 80 and thats only because i was too nervous to push it any faster but it cud easily do more.

Your TZR, should hit 95 - 100 easily.
