Clutch adjustment
Mee again lol, when i was out on the bike on sunday i noticed when i had stopped at lights it was having difficulty going into first from neutral (not while moving tho) I take it a little adjutment of the clutch will probably sort it out, should I be making it tighter or looser tho?

Re: Clutch adjustment
I would of thought it could of only got looser and not tighter so you need to tighten it

Re: Clutch adjustment
some one was fiddling around with the adjuster for me since ive been out last, so it could be too tight or loose (im guessing too tight mabye)

Re: Clutch adjustment
It will more than likely be too loose.
It it was too tight, then you would get clutch slip when in gear, under acceleration.
If it was too loose, you would have clutch drag, and it would engage he clutch, but only slightly, and can stall your bike if its not corrected. lol
Just play with it and find whats best for you, I adjust all the bikes I ride as I like a close clutch..

Re: Clutch adjustment
Clutch slip means when you accelerate hard, the clutch catches slightly (Like when you pull away, you need to 'slip' the clutch) and the revs will rise, but speed doesnt increase quickly.
Mine did this at high speed - Its fine tuning, getting it right
And clutch drag is when the clutch isnt fully disengaged, causing it to stall at low revs, making the riding jerky and can make pulling away a nightmare. lol
Its a fine art getting the two just right if its an older bike, too much slack and you will have clutch drag, too much tension and it will be slipping.
I alter mine for the biting point, because mine didnt have adjustable levers
Understand now

Re: Clutch adjustment
Fair play to Will, he was fastest with the reply, although Gregs content was more infomative and Ben was there to confirm correct information given, so all in all a sucessful outcome and a problem sorted.
